Okkert is one of South Africa’s all-time athletic legends. He competed in the pole vault and set many records (he currently holds the African record). Okkert has won numerous medals at international events and competed in the 1996, 2000 and 2004 Olympic Games finishing 7th in 2000.
Factoid: Okkert now specialises in top-of-the-range fitness equipment, supplied to the corporate, consumer and commercial markets – this proves you can take the man out of the sport, but you can’t take the sport out of the man!
